MUET SESSION 1 2022 MARKS HISTORY IN UMP

5 June 2022 – MUET Session 1 2022 examination in Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) marked its history as it became the first MUET examination unprecedentedly conducted in two test centres which were UMP Pekan and UMP Gambang campus. About 290 students have registered as MUET candidates, ranging from 124 candidates in UMP Pekan and 166 candidates in UMP Gambang.

The written test was held in Astaka, UMP Gambang and lecture rooms in the Centre for Modern Languages (CML) in UMP Pekan on Saturday morning of 26 March 2022. The candidates for both campuses then sat for their oral tests which were conducted several days later.

A week before the test, a briefing session for the MUET exam was conducted by the Competency Unit coordinator, namely Ms. Noor Azlinda Zainal Abidin and her assistant coordinator, Ms. Noraisah Nurul Fatwa. About 200 students attended the 1-hour session.

During the session, the students were briefed on the exam and the standard operating procedure (SOP) they had to comply with to sit for it. Not only that, they were also given the chance to attend a free E-Seminar conducted by the Competency Unit committee members to familiarize them with the MUET examination format and to get some tips in answering the questions.

Since there were two centres, two MUET Session 1 coordinators were appointed to ensure a smooth operation of the exam. For UMP Gambang, Ms. Nor Suhardiliana Sahar was assigned as the coordinator in charge while Ms. Rosnani Ismail was in charge of UMP Pekan.

It was also made known that one of the candidates in Gambang campus who attended the written test was a special needs candidate or Calon Berkeperluan Khas CBK. Proper arrangements were made to ensure that the candidate has got suitable facilities during the test.

On the day of the written test, Malaysian Examination Council (MPM) Examination officer, Ms. Sharifah Norsana Syed Abdullah accompanied by Pahang State Education Department officer, Ms. Siti Nor Hidayah Muhammad Nor visited both Gambang and Pekan test centres. The officers were warmly greeted by the Competency Unit committee members who were on duty that day.

On 30 May 2022, the results of MUET Session 1 2022 were announced. Students were informed to view results and collect their certificates at the Centre for Modern Languages in Gambang or Pekan campus.

As a whole, the Competency Unit committee members’ commitment paid off as they gained invaluable experience in the course of administering this examination. Beside the support from CML management’s, the assistance from University Health Centre (UMP PKU), Security Department (BKESUMP), Centre for Property Management and Development (JPPH) and everyone involved were truly appreciated. As the saying goes ‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

Kudos and a big thanks to all!
