SOP FOR MUET WORKSHOP

30 August 2022 – The Competency Unit of Centre for Modern Languages (CML), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) has successfully organised a one-day workshop on Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for MUET on 25 August 2022, from 9.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m.

Previously, the unit had come out with a SOP at the end of 2020 mainly for the MUET examination. However, to ensure the process and workflow run smoothly in executing tasks related to MUET, having SOPs for other tasks would be helpful to the person in charge as well as easier for others to follow.

Hence, this workshop intended on preparing and presenting the SOPs related to MUET in terms of registration and results collection, logistics, MUET seminar and financial matters.

The session was led by the coordinator of Competency Unit, Ms. Noor Azlinda Zainal Abidin and also involved dedicated team members from the unit: Ms. Noraisah Nurul Fatwa Mohd Razali, Ms. Syazwani Aziz, Ms. Rosnani Ismail, Ms. Nor Suhardiliana Sahar, Ms. Aisyah Hanum Abu Bakar, Mr. Shamsul Harbi, Mr. Mohd Shafiq Abdul Jabar, Ms. Siti Ainun Jariyah Hassan and Ms. Erma Yanti Zakaria.

It took off with the morning session, where participants were divided into groups to prepare SOP for different areas. The active discussion during the group session has led to some great feedback which were incorporated into the SOPs before circulating to partners for further comments and editing.

In the afternoon session, progress towards the final SOPs were made by identifying any additional information that should be reflected in the SOPs. Next, the latest version of the SOPs with the incorporated comments were also presented to the Head of Programme (English Language), Dr. Ruhil Amal for approval.

Notably, the finalised SOPs will be later presented in the next CML executive meeting for endorsement. Once it is endorsed, MUET test takers on campus will also be able to view the SOPs before taking the test.

All in all, everyone has given their best in completing the SOPs and it is hoped that with proper planning and printed SOPs, the tasks assigned in the future will be completed successfully as the saying goes ‘If we fail to plan, we plan to fail’.
