UHL1432 ENGLISH FOR OCCUPATIONAL COMMUNICATION

UHL1422 English for Academic Skills

This course primarily aims to develop students’ English language skills for employability. Students will be exposed to the principles of writing and reading pre-formatted job application documents. Students will participate in the job application process by writing cover letters, resumes, recording video resumes and attending mock job interviews. In addition, students will also engage in group discussions where they will discuss workplace issues. The course is defined within the CEFR high B1 to low B2.

By the end of the semester, students should be able to:

CO1: Use appropriate and accurate language in written and/or oral communication.

CO2: Select appropriate and accurate content for written and/or oral communication.

CO3: Demonstrate effective delivery strategies in oral communication.
