CML POSTGRADUATE WEBINAR 2021

30th OCTOBER 2021 - The Centre for Modern Languages (CML), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) had successfully organized the CML Postgraduate Webinar 2021 via Google Meet application from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The panelists of the webinar were CML’s dedicated lecturers: Associate Professor Dr. Hafizoah binti Kasim, Associate Professor Dr. Noor Raha binti Mohd Radzuan, Dr. Najah binti Osman, Dr. Abdullah bin Adnan, Dr. Mohammad Musab bin Azmat Ali, Dr. Fatimah binti Ali, Dr. Asiah binti Kassim and Ms. Zarina binti Mohd Ali. The webinar, chaired by the lively Dr. Ezihaslinda binti Ngah, was participated by four enthusiastic postgraduate students under the supervision of CML lecturers where they presented their respective research papers.



The first presenter, Murnihayati binti Nek Kamal gave an engaging presentation on her research entitled Investigating Google Classroom as a Collaborative Tool for Grammar Lesson among MRSM Upper Secondary Students. It was followed by a comparably compelling presentation by Vanita A/P Subramaniam on Investigating Effectiveness of Storyboard that Collaborative Narrative Writing on Achievement among ESL Upper Secondary School Students. The third presenter was Mohd Zulfadli bin Mat Husin who presented his thought-provoking research entitled Investigating Public University Administrative Staff English Communication Apprehension at Workplace. Finally, the webinar was followed through with a powerful presentation by Alagest S/O Theruvarul Natan entitled Translation in Journalism: The Significance of Language Awareness in Press Release using Google Translate from Malay to English.

During the event, the expert panelists raised some noteworthy issues concerning the research presented and constructively shared their valuable insights with the presenters for improvements to be made. It is hoped that the comments and suggestions made during the webinar was able to shed some light on the participants’ research and in turn, served as a catalyst that encouraged the participants to strive in their studies.
