Self-Audit at Centre for Modern Languages Universiti Malaysia Pahang

Centre for Modern Languages (CML) – Recently, a self-audit involving General Subjects or was held in accordance with the directive issued by the Department of Higher Education. This audit process covered the work process/ mechanism the revision of course materials for teaching and learning purposes as well as the development and vetting of items for the assessment and evaluation purposes.

The directive issued by the Department of Higher Education has recommended that this self-audit should be conducted by each higher learning institution on a regular basis so that the quality of student assessment and evaluation complies with the course outcomes (COs). The cooperation given by all CML course coordinators and their respective team of instructors has been key to ensuring the success of this self-audit exercise as it has not only shown their commitment as team players in imparting knowledge but also as members of the teaching team charged with the responsibility for recording and documenting all information required. According to CML Spanish Language Course Coordinator, Azlina Ariffin, she would usually update two sets of files every semester, namely, She said that the organisation of the materials contained in each of these files would be made in accordance with the guidelines set by the Malaysian Qualifications Authority (MQA). She also added that with such practice, the review and the reference process for the next semester would be more systematic and convenient. This self-audit was facilitated by Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Ruzaimi Bin Mat Rejab with the presence of the CML Dean, Dr. Nik Aloesnita Binti Nik Mohd Alwi, Deputy Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, Dr Abdullah Adnan Mohamed, and the two heads of programmes for the courses offered at CML.  Millions of thanks go to the Centre for Academic Quality and Compliance (CAQC) for their cooperation in making this self-audit exercise a success.
