By the end of the semester, students should be able to:

transfer main information based on general audio texts.

CO2:
identify relevant details in straightforward factual texts

CO3:
write short, simple essays on topics of familiar subjects

CO4:
deliver a straightforward description on familiar subjects

This course primarily aims to help students improve communicative performance in academic settings. This is achieved by involving essential four language skills including grammar practices. Students are exposed to the principles of verbal and written communications for academic purposes namely presentation skills and academic writing. They are also introduced to effective listening and reading strategies, which are aimed to help them cope with the learning environment. Additionally, students are conditioned to different types of descriptive essays. The use of related online materials is incorporated in the subject to include the element of technology in language learning.

This course is defined within the CEFR high B1 to low B2 level.
